Waterville parks and recreation has begun to erect an encompassing chain link fence around locomotive 470, with gates to allow New England Steam to access the locomotive for preventative maintenance. Financial campaign donations have started to accrue real dollars, and pledges amount to over $2500 in the first week since announcement. Material donations have also begun.
